Pants Off Dance Off (12/28/2007)

released: Dec 28, 2007

description: A crowd parts to make way for the club's most revered dancers – Diego "Double Dutch" Diablo and Craig "Big C" Capowski. As the two tear up the floor, the crowd gets a little too crazy, and decide to release the club's two caged panthers. The panthers, of course, immediately maul the two dancers, despite their best efforts to subdue them via dance.

The two men wake in the hospital with limited mobility, and certainly, as their kind doctor informs them, no hope of ever dancing again. The club's owner, Tom Anderson, enters and immediately places blame for the incident on the two of them, rather than his brother, Exotic Eddie, a collector of exotic pets. Although Double Dutch and Big C reminisce about the start of the club and their initial meeting with Tom, he remains unswayed.

Double Dutch and Big C continue to dwell on their glory days when one of their fans, Legs, comes across them. She bemoans the lack of a place for the kids to dance now, and says that everyone misses their skills on the dance floor. Double Dutch and Big C push their own misery aside and go to the club to see what Tom is up to.

At the club, they find Tom and a police officer ready to legally set the club on fire. Although Double Dutch and Big C force Tom to remember some good things about the club life, he goes ahead with the destruction anyhow. The three watch the place burn to the ground, each lost in their own memories.

That night, as they help each other bathe, Double Dutch and Big C mourn the loss of their second home and wonder what they can possibly do with their limited lives now. As they solemnly reflect as they wash, they discover they can still move in a rhythm together, and with this newfound hope, they decide that they can make some adjustments and continue to dance.

They soon sweep the city with their wheelchair dancing, first on street corners, but soon at large events. They go to the parking lot that Tom Anderson built on the club's ground only to find Exotic Eddie has stocked him with some new pets. Tom has let himself go, clearly depressed over the loss of the club. The two dancers tell Tom that they are going to revive the club in the parking lot. It takes some convincing, but Tom finally agrees, and with the money they've earned, they publicize the dance party for anyone who wants to dance all over town.

They celebrate the opening night with a night on the town – which quickly turns to tragedy. Tom is riding on the dancers' wheelchairs when Exotic Eddie chases his sloth into the street in front of them. The chairs miss the sloth, but throw Tom. When he wakes in the hospital, he cannot move anything below his neck. He is alone and despondent – until Double Dutch and Big C show up with a custom wheelchair for him. The three head over to the club opening.

The club is already raging when the three roll in. The crowd immediately goes crazy over their dancing. Exotic Eddie decides to celebrate by releasing a giant panther. Thinking quickly, Double Dutch, Big C, and Tom distract the panther with their rad dance moves while Big C shoots it. Everyone escapes the attack unharmed, except for Exotic Eddie, who is maimed but learns that some pets are dangerous. Everyone soon gets back to dancing, and the club for anyone who wants to dance is a huge success.
