NASCAR to the Moon (06/22/2007)

released: Jun 22, 2007

description: In an indeterminate future time, four NASCAR drivers take their marks in a race through the solar system. All are determined to win, but as the race begins, a rocket car breaks down, spins out of control, and crashes into the other cars. All the cars are lost. All the drivers survive, but at great injury.

NASCAR president Basil von Wentworth demands that despite the tragic accident, NASCAR must carry on. He insists that they revive the Lunar 500. His vice president, Imar Gandhi, tells him he is insane given the conflict with China. Von Wentworth will have his way though, despite the odds, and the pessimistic demeanor of all the drivers.

However, all four drivers prepare for the race. They are joined this time by Chester Green, an enthusiastic novice. The five take off into space on a course around the moon and back again. Immediately, Sarah Rocketon pulls to the head of the pack, but Ivana Badski has other ideas. She uses her rocket car's hidden weapons to tear Sarah Rocketon's car apart and spin it off course. As Sarah Rocketon floats past Jupiter, she begins to pay another price for Ivana Badski's sabotage, as her extensive plastic surgery begins to fall off.

Meanwhile, in the race, the other drivers face problems of their own as they face a Chinese floating minefield. Ace Spaceton leads all the racers safely through. As they emerge, he reveals his own secret weapon: he kicks his rocket car into warp speed, only to overshoot the moon by an equal distance.

As the other three racers struggle towards the moon, a rocket begins to fall off of Chet Green's car, an antique from his grandfather. Chet Green tries to repair it, but ultimately loses it. As he begins to spin off course, a mechanical arm reaches out from Janet Rocket's car and pulls him back. He fixes the remaining rocket to the top of his car and bravely attempts to continue on.

Ivana Badski looks as though she may be attempting something else nefarious as the racers approach the finish line. Chet Green's car cannot make it across the line, and as Ace Spaceton rushes back to the site, the other two drivers realize one must stop Ivana Badski. Ace Spaceton makes the sacrifice and hijacks Ivana Badski, just as Sarah Rocketon comes spinning back onto the course. Janet Rocket crosses the finish line first, and celebrates victory for the revival of NASCAR as well as simply for all of womankind.
